  1. I like this idea for orientation. As a transfer student that started Fall 2011, I was very put off by the advisor that I had to speak with to be able to enroll in my classes. They were in the middle of giving finals and acted like they didn't understand why we were all there to get advised. Needless to say I switched my degree program because of the lack of help these advisers offered.

  2. I think this would be a great idea. From the time that the college implemented the online New Student Orientation, I thought that it was not a good idea because students would be better served by having an in person face to face orientation. This helps the students in more ways than one can imagine and provides them with an opportunity to learn more about the college in a more effective way. Also, since the implementation of the Online New Student Orientation, there have been students who have been frustrated, have a harder time finding their advisor as well as finding their way around, especially at the Main Campus and have also talked about how hard it is to register for classes.

  3. These resume writing, dress for success and interviewing skills workshops are currently offered several times a semester. I agree that we as a college need to spend a little more money up front to make a student 'proud' to be an Athens Tech student by giving them a nice folder to keep all pertinent info in. I am a paper person, so while you say to me 'it is on the computer' and I understand it is my responsibility to know what it says, I am less likely to sit at the computer and read it all. I probably would just refer to the computer when I had a question, but many of our students just want a piece of paper.
