  1. As a biotech student I think this is a fantastic idea for entering or first year students. However, I do not think those of use who have been in the program and completed the first year courses should be required to take this new class to earn their degree. It is frustrating for older students, who can not take full course loads due to family or work, to have program course changes during the years it takes them to complete their degrees and have additional courses added extending the time it takes to finish.

  3. Most definitely a very useful and promising proposal. All science students will benefit from the implementation of the 'bridge to science' proposal which will promote student retention. Great program addition for our college and a job well done!

  4. This is a great idea-coupling review of the basics with mentoring. We need help retaining students that find courses like Chemistry scary.

  5. The fact that this is based on a proven model makes it very promising! Systematically linking information across courses will help all students learn more efficiently.

  7. This sounds like a proposal that would actually yield very positive results. Would most definitely help those students who struggle in the sciences and almost secure success in the classes that are stumbling blocks for students to reach their educational/career aspirations.

  8. This project will advance our tool box concerning science education. As a result students will be better qualified for other degree programs and any employment in the life sciences field.

  9. The lab math course that is part of this proposal has prepared me for general chemistry. Without it, i would not have passed gen chem. I encourage my friends to take this course and for the college to adopt these courses (outlined in the proposal) to help facilitate the learning gap encountered in secondary education

  10. This would be great for getting up to speed with math, chemistry and biology! High School has failed many students in getting them properly prepared for rigorous science and technology programs. The sooner we can have this the better!
