  1. Professionalism will assist ATC students in their future careers. By treating ATC students more professionally, I believe staff could actually help encourage these skills/habits in the students and contribute to future success. Information about how to navigate ATC needs to be laid out more clearly for students. I agree that staff could be more knowledgeable and professional in assisting students. Perhaps the suggestions in other proposals listed here for improving orientation would also help reduce the confusion and burden on staff for answering so many questions. The ATC website is also confusing. Students could also be more self-directed if the website was easier to navigate and communicated information more effectively.

  2. As far as staff goes, at the Walton campus I have had nothing but good experiences. They are a lovely bunch of people and I fully enjoyed going there. I also had some pleasant experiences with the few teachers at main....a far as the main campus staff...talk about attitude adjustment. I had more issues there trying to get help than ever...I remember one day I called the Elberton campus JUST so I could get some Fin Aid advice because the main campus would not 1) answer the phone 2) return my message and 3) treat me like a real person.

Another time at main campus I was the only person in line at the cashier's window ( paying for a transcript ) and all three people where behind the counter. One was shopping, one was reading a book ( I believe the book was Heaven is Real ) and the other was talking to someone on the phone ( about cashier stuff so I can't put this person at fault). But the fact that I had to wait so long to pay cash for something is crazy.

  3. I have never had any bad experiences with anyone on the main campus. In fact, I have had people go out of their way to help me when I needed it. I guess it's all a matter of perspective because I love the teachers and staff at ATC!

  4. Not sure if this would work for the QEP but think it's a great idea for staff development. Having everyone on campus more informed about our programs, services, and what the student experience is like would make it easier for all of us to do a better job helping students.
